#1. Who is Stripe for?

If your tour or activity business is based in North America, Europe, Australia, Brasil, India, or is on this list of supported countries - Junglebee booking software uses Stripe to accept credit card payments for bookings.

For tour suppliers based in the Caribbean or Costa Rica, Junglebee uses JB Pay to accept credit card payments. You can learn about JB Pay here.

#2. What exactly is Stripe and why do I need it?

Stripe is a payment processing platform which allows you to receive payments for bookings made online. Once linked to your Junglebee account, your customers can pay for their bookings online via credit card.

#3. How do I sign up for Stripe?

Simply go to https://stripe.com and create a free account.

#4. How much does it cost?

Creating an account with Stripe is free; you only pay per transaction. For a break down of their fees in your region, please go to https://stripe.com/pricing.

Note: The 2% Junglebee booking fee is separate from the Stripe credit card processing fee and is refundable if a booking is cancelled.

#5. How do I connect my Stripe account with my Junglebee account?

Here is a quick tutorial on how to connect your Stripe and Junglebee accounts:

#6. How and when do I receive payments via Stripe?

Payments are sent directly to your bank account from Stripe. You can select the schedule that suits you best (depending on your country's regulations): daily, weekly, or monthly automatic payments.

For more information on how Stripe payouts work, please see this article.

#7. How do refunds work?

When you issue a refund for a booking on Junglebee, the 2% Junglebee booking fee will also be refunded. However, the Stripe processing fee from the original transaction is not refundable. There aren't any additional fees for processing refunds, but you won't get the fees back from the original transaction.

Refunds are processed using your Stripe balance. If you don't have a balance in Stripe, it will be deducted from your bank account. It takes roughly 5-10 business days for a refund to be processed, and it cannot be canceled once it has been issued.

#8. Optional Booking Fee

The Booking Fee is the 2% fee, which is added to each booking made via Junglebee. However, you can choose whether you or your customer pay this fee.

We've made this an option because some companies would rather have the customer pay the 2% fee than themselves.

  • If the booking fee setting is not activated, Junglebee automatically deducts 2% per transaction. Example: For a $100 booking, you get $98 and we keep $2, which is the transaction fee.

  • With the booking fee setting activated, customers will see that there is a 2% booking fee during the reservation process, so the total cost of the reservation is the tour price + a 2% booking fee. Example: For a $100 booking, we charge the customer $102. We pay you $100 and keep $2, which is the booking fee.

You can turn on/off the Booking Fee by going to the menu in the top right of the page and choosing My Account > Payment Information
